SGMRSC glossary
This shop attempts to combine North American and British terminology like "turnout/point" or "tie/sleeper". Individual terms are defined in this table.

| code | Rail height measurement. The code value represents thousands of an inch. Thus code 70 rail (HOn3) is 70 x 0.001" = 0.07" or approximately 1.8 mm high. Code 75 rail (HOm) is 0.075" or approximately 1.9 mm high. Code 80 rail (OO9 / HOn30 / HOe) is 0.08" or approximately 2.0 mm high. Code 124 is 0.124" or approximately 3.1 mm high. |

| Electrofrog | PECO turnout category that has a metal conducting frog. See Frogs and turnout wiring. |
| Frog |
Frogs are the 'vee'-shaped part of a railway turnout where individual rails cross. See Frogs and turnout wiring. |
| Gauge |
Distance between rails. SGMRSC offers track in 16.5 mm (OO and HO gauge), and 32 mm (O gauge). |
| Point | British term for 'Turnout', the special track configuration that directs traffic to or from either of (usually) two routes. |
| Scale | Ratio of model railway dimensions to corresponding prototype dimensions. OO scale is 1:76. HO scale is 1:87. |
| Sleeper | British term for 'Tie', the transverse fixture supporting rails and maintaining of rail gauge (separation). Model railway sleepers are usually molded plastic and may show simulated wood grain. |
